Live Music : Alissa Arnason

Excited to welcome Alissa Arnason to our Bandidas stage! This dreamy folk vibe is perfect for a cozy Sunday night. Don’t miss her set from 8-10 pm.

Alissa Arnason's debut release, Stone & Feather, features a haunting softness that is both melancholic and lighthearted. Gentle picking and airy vocals are complimented perfectly by simplistic cello and violin, creating an ethereal folk fairy tale. Described as romantic dream-folk,

Arnason maintains a delicate balance between light and darkness, expressing an ambience partnering with the aural experience of each song. Her music is best described as deeply romantic, bittersweet, and laced with intricate stories of travel, heartbreak, and murder.

Live Music : ursidae

Caro was one of the first people to play live music at Bandidas and it’s a joy to have her back for another night of songs. Set from 8-10pm.

If folk music is “all the music that fits between the cracks”, then ursidae springs forth from the lush, dark soil that lives between rocks and sidewalk squares. This alt-folk offering is the solo project of Vancouver-based musician Caro Deady. Tapped into tradition, and stirred by the indie folk stylings of Daughter, Bon Iver, and Sharon van Etten, ursidae gives voice to her own stories in her newest release, almost//closer an EP steeped in dusky blues and the salty waters of lonely love.

For more ursidae check out her website here.

Live Music : OXLIP

Jayne aka OXLIP returns to Bandidas to grace us with her gorgeous voice live from 8-10pm.

Oxlip is some elegant and enchanted alchemy at work – somehow weaving together a mystical Celtic dream-like state (Trimble is originally from Northern Ireland) with ancient folk-lore, and the magic of myth & legend – blended in to a curiously enigmatic and rich folk sound which, frankly, is impossible to define.
