Bike/Skate Shops we like:

Super Champion: An awesome Downtown Eastside track and vintage bike shop. Huge inventory of high quality parts that you might not be able to get anywhere else in town, nice staff, rad space. Check them out.
245 Main St

Mighty Riders:
A well established road bike shop. These guys know their sh*t, build good bikes, sell lots of parts, do custom fitting, and are just downright awesome. Don't worry if they are a little grumpy at first, they're just shy.
10 E Broadway
& 1823 4th Avenue

On the Rivet:
Just next door to Mighty Riders. This is a sweet bike apparel shop; get your cycling shoes, helmets, spandex, and street clothes. These guys are so awesome! They sell locally-made clothing and hats, as well as name brand bike-ware.
8 E Broadway

Our Community Bikes (OCB):
This is a central hub of the East Van cycling community. This not-for-profit community shop offers new and used parts, repairs, tool rental, and bike repair training. Yeah, if you want someone to teach you how to work on your bike, this is your place! If you haven't been to this shop, you should just go check it out.
3283 Main St

AntiSocial: A rad skateboard shop run by the friendliest lady in town. We don't even skateboard and we are always in this shop. Michelle has art shows and bands playing from time to time. She is always doing something to promote skateboarding in the city. Go buy things from her and don't let her give you a deal.
2337 Main Street

Other local things we think you should know about:

VACC (the Vancouver Area Cycling Coalition):
A local bike advocacy organization, working to promote more cycling, improve infrastructure and safety for riders. They offer training for adults and children.

BEST (Better Environmentally Sound Transportation ): A non-profit organization promoting sustainable transportation in BC. Have you seen their bike valet parking at local events?

Favourite Non-Vegetarian Restaurants:

Little Nest: A haven for families and foodies alike. Great food and play area for children.
1716 Charles St

The Templeton: A cool diner with milk-shakes, vegan poutine, and vegan nut loaf. We like it.

The Roundel Cafe: Has great breakfasts (get a benny) and a cool atmosphere.

The Whip: Good food. We recommend the unique veggie burger. Craft beer. They have a great patio, and a cozy dining room.

Finches: This place is so cute, we're jealous. They make tea, coffee, yummy cookies and baked goods, and amazing sandwiches, with fresh ingredients, always beautifully presented.

Coffee Shops and Pubs:

Our Town Cafe: Relaxed atmosphere. Yummy muffins. Good coffee. Nice seats in the windows. Free wireless. A great place to study, hold a casual business meeting, or have a coffee date with a friend. Bandidas was pretty much completely developed inside this coffee shop; idea discussed, business plan written and re-written, logo designed. We've spent a lot of time here because we like it.
245 E Broadway

The Brickhouse: A bike friendly pub (you can bring your bike inside). Cool, laid-back atmosphere. Good people. Pool table. As much a local pub as you'll find in Vancouver.
730 Main St

Art & Tattoos:

Eastside Tattoos: This shop is a couple stores down from Bandidas. Both Trent and Jess are super nice without any tattoo attitude. Trent has tattooed a number of our staff members and is one of the best artists in town. He did the sleeves on one of our cooks and they look sooooo good. Jess is a solid artist.
2767 Commercial Dr

Shoko Sonoda: Another lovely tattoo artist. Shoko has tattooed a lot of people we know including Aiyana and Jackie. She is kind and professional...and we wanna be her friend. She did the artwork for our website. She has an adorable shop on Broadway near Oak.
